I HAVE 2 FOLLOWERS OVERNIGHT!!! YAY!!!
Okay, that takes care of that! But thank you so much! I am sorry if I don't post very often in the future. All my school is kinda a lot. Right now I am snagging a few minutes during lunch to post this. I am semi-homeschooled...(don't ask, it's a looooong explaination.)
On the other hand, I have made some good progress. Last night I started a new project--my post-victorian faerie. She has a little brown flapper bob and a headband. Without her dress or wings (yes, a different pair for every dress!) she doesn't look much like a faerie. I made her look colorized. Her skin is very pale and little grey with VERY pink glowy cheeks, dark lips, and small features. Right now "her petticoat wants a border!" She has this little hoop skirt and corset. Plus silver shoes with little bells on the toes.
The way I make my dolls is to draw them and copy them. Then I take the copy and fill in any lines that didn't show up. I save the first drawing for later. I take the finished copy and color it. Next, I coat a piece of cardstock in glue, spread even and not too thick. I know, it would save time and effort to copy it onto cardstock, but my printer doesn't like to work that way. Plus, this way it's even thicker! Carefully I lay the drawing on top of the glue and make sure while it's still wet that there are no bubbles. Rolling it back a little helps this. Here comes the best part...detales!!! I use gelpens to add a sparkle to an eye, borders on...peticoats! Haha! And anything else for that matter (Buttons, trim, shoes, ect.) I also add beads for rings and earrings and buttons sometimes. Then I cut her out and draw the dresses around her. It works really well and everything fits.
My Faerie doll is about 5 inches and so far, I have made three dresses. I will post those pictures later today.
BTW, anyone know how to add a song to the blog? Nothing I do works.
The petticoat border jokes are from a song I sung in choir once called "I's the By."
ReplyDeleteClaire, you're not semihomeschooled. You go to a university model school. Trust me, that's the technical term.
